Buyer Evaluations
Last time we required a Sump Pump, we purchased a Wayne. We believed it would (should really) final longer than the preceding Flotec pump. Nicely it did not last that extended, about a year longer than the Flotec. In 25 years, we have gone by means of five Sump Pumps. A Sears, Simer (no components soon after four years!), Flotec (twice) and now the Wayne. I had purchased a Wayne Cast Iron Sump Pump CDU-790 as backup and installed that when the WST-30 failed. The WST-30 acted as although it was tripping the internal thermal protector. It would quit operating and then 1/2 hour later it would lastly startup. For the final two days we have had a quite heavy rain and the WST-30 was running quite a bit but it will need to not have overheated sitting in cool water! The impeller did not turn freely and I suspect the bearings had been worn out already. In the meantime I used an Auxiliary pump to get the water level down and then installed the new pump. Our Sump does not fill up to trip the Sump Pump rather regularly so these Sump Pumps really should final a lot longer. Certainly disappointed with Wayne and the other manufacturers.
I purchased this product in august 2011 . For use in a pond . Just after six months of infrequent use it stopped operating.
