Soon after my builder's grade sump pump died after six years of use, I decided to upgrade to a better unit. Worked great for the initially two years, but now will not engage by itself. I can tap the float to make it function, but it will not work on its own when the water level needs it to turn on.
Immediately after collecting model/serial number purchase info, I contacted Wayne. As covered in other evaluations, the lifetime warranty covers extremely tiny of the unit. In reality, the company's client help folks anticipate for the switch to be replaced each and every two years at over $30 a pop. The switch contains the cover assembly, and you should drain and refill the oil prior to replacing the switch and top. Directions for performing the switch are not readily attainable - their response was "call us if you run into any challenges".
