Customer Testimonials
So I bought this item for my sump pit. The sensor has a suction cup, and the top of my pump float switch is smooth, seemed the fantastic location to attach the sensor -- if the water keeps rising when the float is at the top, this implies the pump is being overrun (or broken), and I want to know about it pronto! Major mistake.
So I tested the alarm by dipping the sensor into a cup of water -- worked fantastic, as promised -- and stuck the sensor on best of the float switch, which was the only suitable smooth surface there. But following recent record rains when the water rose way higher than the sensor (it was at least 1/two foot below water, for many hours), the alarm remained silent. Puzzled, I began experimenting with it a lot more to figure out why. And, positive adequate, if you lower the sensor into a cup of water slowly keeping it horizontal, a sizeable air bubble remains in there in between the leads and prevents it from operating! This looks like a massive style flaw.
Now I have it in the pit vertically, aligned such that a single of the openings in the sensor enclosure is at the best, to allow the air to escape. Putting it this way wasn't as hassle-free as before (there's no smooth flat vertical surface to attach the suction cup to), but hopefully it will make it perform better subsequent time, if there's 1.
So the bottom line is, make confident that your sensor is not attached horizontally.
product works as stated - but is not as loud as I'd like.
Tough to hear the product in the basement when on the initially floor with the Tv at a moderate level - can not hear it at all from the second floor
I bought 3 various products wanting to compare and come across a very good warning device and all are about the similar - bottom line is its much better than nothing but far from optimal
