We installed this model sump pump in 1997. 13 years later, it is nevertheless operating. I am choosing a back-up pump (same Model) considering that this pump got wet just after the power went out and the basement flooded. Even even though it is still operating, I don't want to take a likelihood. The area exactly where we live is wet and water consistently pushes up into the french drains and sump pump hole. There was not a day of rest for this pump. Just after 13 years, it deserves a rest.
My sump was making strange noise so I purchased this for backup in case mine dies. Looks nice, really should do the job, but so far I haven't tried it out. From other evaluations I believe most are pleased, hope I will be. If I do not have to have it for another 20 years, that is fine also.
