Client Reviews
This pump controller operates nicely for easy applications. The float is nicely designed, and even though "dual float" could lead you to believe that it comes with two separate float assemblies, it's really 1 assembly with two floats inside. The floats are designed for redundancy. If the lower float fails to signal the pump, you get yet another opportunity with the upper float. The crucial design win right here is that the floats are not mechanically linked to the electrical system of the controller. The floats are basically two floating magnets resembling tiny doughnuts, slid onto a pole operating via their centers. The floats, um, "float" freely on the pole, and two magnetic sensors embedded in the pole detect when either of the floats are in the correct position to trigger the pump. This is a wonderful design and appears to be extremely reliable. When the pump is triggered, it runs till the float returns to just beneath the trigger position, then stays on for a handful of seconds a great deal more. This is decent enough to preserve a basement sump from overflowing. You could even turn the float assembly upside-down and and develop a "auto filler" for use in ponds (or other applications) where the pump is triggered when the water level is as well low.
I can finally sleep without having having to be concerned the float for my sump pump acquiring stuck. Well worth the money for the peace of thoughts! I'm amazed I couldn't locate this switch in the key hardware stores.
The picture throw me off. I believed it was going to be two separate floats but that's OK.
