Client Reviews
Background you can skip
We recently had some near misses due to extreme rainfall in Northwest Indiana. Our dated sump pump, of the type with battery backup, what slowly kicking it and we decided we necessary to have the subsequent one particular ready and waiting some the day it would croak.
Naturally, getting a bargain hunter, I set out to get the cheapest feasible remedy. That, but, is not wise when dealing with possible water damage. We ordered this one given the HP listed, the dirty water cability and most importantly the price tag.
About this item
It looks like a normal sump pump except that it appears slightly wider. Also, the 'floater' seems to have alot more leeway that with a typical run of the mill pump. It comes with a handful of additional adapters so you can hook it up effortlessly. Our findings are that the floater tube is long and floats freely. The width of the pump is slightly way more than that of our existing battery backed pump which made it tough to place in. Also, the connectors are in an 'odd' location so we had to get additional rubber pieces to make it connect.
The pump is loud when pumping out and seems to click on and off alot. Appears to be in the electric style of the floater unit. It does , yet, handle dirty water well and the HP power is sufficient.
Pros
Low-priced
Dirty water capable
Decent HP
Extended electricity cord
lots extra connectors (e.g you can hook up a regular water hose, making it great as an emergency back up in case your old pump breaks)
Portable
Cons
Lengthy floater tube appears to switch off and on alot additional than other pump
Lots of HP but nonetheless only 1800 gph? In all probability due to handling particles?
Plasticky, not so confident it will last in continuous operation
Conclusion
I would not acquire this as my only major sump pump. I would but this as a back up and use it with the hose connector in case I would will need to pump a pond or so empty. The reason: it appears especially plasticky. Not pretty high GPH either. Overall, although, given the value, I consider this much better than the lowest grade Home Depot or Menards sold pumps (which DO NOT final a lot more than two years). If even more highly-priced I would ahve given this 3 stars nut offered the 50$ I give this .
This is a pretty fine product...i have a sceptic tank that frequently needs emptying...this is just as very good as the truck that ordinarily comes and we have to spend $85 per trip for them to empty...particularly fine in dirty water...superb prouct...sad that its discontinued
