I have been a extended time supporter of Watchdog Batteries until lately. My 1st Watchdog battery lasted nicely beyond the recommended life, and this was below above typical anxiety - we have a lot of water pouring into our sump pit AND lose power pretty commonly. This all changed two years ago when I replaced my 6 hour battery. I purchased a replacement six hour battery at Lowe's and swapped it for the depleted a single. It worked fine for about 14 months and then entirely crapped out right when hurricane Irene hit us final month. We spent three.five hours trying to scoop water out of our sump pit by hand considering that the battery failed. My guess is that Glen Tronics altered anything in the manufacturing approach of their batteries that was not fully life tested - resulting in premature failures - I have read several related critiques of their batteries. I would advocate refraining from purchasing GlenTronics batteries until they have resolved these defects. I have worked with many battery firms in my 20+ year career as an electrical engineer and it is not uncommon to run into these good quality problems occasionally with a battery enterprise as they experiment with distinct chemistries, but the customer should really not have to pay the price for this.
Battery was easy to install and it provides you a peace of mind being aware of that you are protect in case the power goes out. I purchased this battery along with a new backup sump pump due to the fact my power went out for the duration of the final big storm and I had to manually empty my sump pump for 6 hours straight. This battery is a revenue and back saver.
