Customer Reviews
I was incredibly impressed with the top quality and style of this pump. Installation even in a little crock is a breeze due to the pipe coming out of the leading of the housing at the center, and the caged float assembly becoming clamped to the pipe.
The only unfavorable is that the float assembly on and off points are too close with each other in my opinion due to the short caged float assembly. The pump runs for 10 seconds after the water goes beneath the float switch off point, presumably to try to compensate for this, but my big 18" crock nevertheless has much more water in it than I'm put to use to with a traditional tether kind float switch when the pump shuts off. This pump moves so a lot water so rapid, I guess it really is no major deal. Plus, the extra water keeps the pump cool, so all in all it is a good trade off to get rid of the tether switch style. The tether switches can be tough to set up properly, and can hang up and not turn on at times. Doh! I've had trouble with them even in my significant crock. In a modest diameter crock they have to be a true pain!
The caged switch assembly has TWO floats in it. The second float near the top rated of the cage activates the pump if the main float leaks and won't float anymore. Outstanding safety feature!
I was skeptical about the comments on how quiet this pump is, but I can confirm this is accurate. This is a particularly quiet pump.
I looked at the nearby massive box retailers and did some shopping and analysis on line just before buying this pump for the reason that I wasn't in desperate require. This is the perfect pump I located on the marketplace for up to twice the price. The fact that this pump is this fine for this cost blows me away. The cheapest pump you will obtain is about $100, and it really is no where close to this excellent I paid $130 for this pump shipped to my property from Wayfair. I could not be happier with my selection to purchase this pump. Superior Luck All
I purchased this pump as a replacement for my regular noisy sump pump with an exposed float. I kept possessing complications with float hang-up and shaft seizure on three unique "dry motor pumps".
Installation was a breeze. The pump is compact and quiet. It is removable by unplugging the AC cord and loosening a single plastic pipe union about six feet up from the pump discharge outlet. Given that I have a dry bottom sump, I do this periodically (at least once per year) to replace the prime two inches of sand with coarse blasting sand. This keeps the pit clean and dry. I preserve the pump inlet about 4 inches from the bottom to prevent handling debris. That bottom drainage removes the remaining water so there is no standing water in the sump pit.
The only extra thing that I had to do was to use a Ty-Rap® to hold the control box to the wall receptacle. Just loosen the wall plate and tighten it once again about halfway on a Ty-Rap®, then engage the Ty-Rap® and tighten it following the manage box is plugged in. It is a bit as well simple and easy to accidentally bump this and have it fall out for my liking.
This is the perfect pump that I have found for this objective so far. None of my other pumps have lasted the 3 years that this 1 is warranted for.
